Mykhailo Bozhii (1911–1990) was a Ukrainian artist. Bozhii is known for his genre painting. He is a laureate of the Shevchenko National Prize (1974). Mykhailo got his artistic training in Mykolaiv, although he spent most of his life in Odessa.
Mykhailo Bozhii became internationally famous in 1957 when his painted portrait «The Nurse» (1955) was awarded a bronze medal at the International Exhibition in Brussels. Bozhii's piece «Thoughts, My Thoughts» (1959-1960 рр.) inspired by the powerful poem by Taras Shevchenko has become one of the key works of the Ukrainian art at the second half of the XX century.
Today, Mykhailo Bozhii's art can be found in the collections of the most important art museums of Ukraine as well as in private collections.
